Trevor Griffiths – ONC, HNC, CG, FNZIOB, RCM

Trevors’ background is in senior Project Management and Construction business leadership including Commercial, Industrial, Construction, Development and Civil Engineering. His style of leadership is with a collaborative ‘can do’ attitude.

  • 35 years of involvement in the construction industry including 10 years civil engineering experience in the UK and 22 years commercial construction management 23 years in NZ.
  • Over $1.0b worth of construction experience.
  • Respected manager of over 360 people on more than one project.
  • Vast knowledge of the New Zealand Construction Industry and construction laws / acts.
  • Fellow of the NZ Institute of Building and Registered Construction Manager.
  • Award winning Project Manager.

Heather Tomason

Heather´s background includes construction related office management, project administration, communications and financial control. She has been involved in the business sector through her previous position with the Chamber of Commerce, in banking and the travel / hospitality industry.

Heather and Trevor have worked together since 2001.

  • Former Director/shareholder in a construction company employing up to 15 staff.
  • Financial administrator and office manager with over 25 years experience.
  • Former Secretary of the Northland Chamber of Commerce.
  • Former Board Member of the Northland Chamber of Commerce.
  • Sole operator in a successful start up business.
  • Extensive project administration knowledge.
  • Sound fiscal expertise on projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Ministry of Education Property requirements.

Hugh McKee – ANZIOB

Hugh is based in Whangarei and has been an Associate working with Griffiths & Associates since 2004. He has many years experience in the construction industry starting with his ship, yacht and boatbuilding apprenticeship in the early 1970´s. Since then he has worked on construction related projects.

Hugh is currently working on a number of Griffiths & Associates projects as Site Manager. Hugh is an Associate of the NZ Institute of Building and a NZIOB award winning member of the Griffiths team.

Darren Tantau

Darren Tantau

Darren has worked in the construction industry for 27 years as a Carpenter, Foreman and for five years as a Construction Manager. Darren has been an Associate and Site Manager of Griffiths since 2009. He has vast experience and knowledge in all aspects of the building trade. Darren is based in our Whangarei office and is site manager on a number of Griffiths projects at present.

Liz McKenzie

Liz McKenzie

As former co-director of a building business, Liz has extensive knowledge of the construction industry. Her knowledge of process and administration in construction makes Liz a valued asset to the Griffiths & Associates team. She has an extensive knowledge of the processes of project management in the education sector. Liz also has previous experience in the banking industry.

Karsten Thomsen

Project Manager

Karsten Thomsen – BSEC, MNZIOB

Karsten joined our team in April 2011. Karsten has worked in the construction industry for 15 years as a Site Manager / Project Manager. He has great knowledge & experience in all aspects, especially the Civil Engineering sector. Karsten is based in our Whangarei Office and is a Project Manager on a number of Griffiths projects at present.

Kevin Judge – FCIOB, MNZIOB, RCM

Kevin is based in Auckland and has been an Associate for 6 years. He has 38 years experience in the construction industry including 25 years in South Africa and 13 years in New Zealand. Kevin has worked on projects ranging from homes to shopping and civic complexes and in recent years on major supermarket refurbishments and extensions and new build commercial projects.

He has worked on a number of Griffiths & Assoc projects. Kevin is a member of the NZ Institute of Building (NZIOB) and a Registered Construction Manager.

Taleesha Nimmo

Assistant Project Administrator

Taleesha Nimmo

Taleesha joined our team 22 August 2011 and has the role of Assistant Project Administrator. Taleesha has worked in the construction industry as an administrator both on and off site for the past 5 years, more recently for a multinational engineering firm involved in the Dairy Industry. She has good knowledge of administrative processes. Taleesha also has experience in architectural/mechanical draughting.

Andy Wilkinson – ONC, HNC, IQS pt1

Andy is based in Christchurch and has 36 years experience in commercial construction including 16 years in the UK and 20 years in NZ from the initial role as QS to Project and Construction Management. As Commercial Manager for Mainzeal in Wellington he was instrumental in the successful award of the $100m Parliament Building refurbishment and initial Milk Powder projects amongst many others.

He was South Island Manager for Mainzeal for 7 years during which period he managed over $300m of commercial construction throughout the South Island. In the past 8 years he has completed over $150m of projects including the prestigious Palms Shopping Centre in Christchurch.
