NZIOB Awards 2019
NZIOB held their annual Building Industry Awards this August in Auckland.
The NZIOB’s Awards programme began in 1994, with the initial emphasis being on recognising the achievements of project managers running commercial construction projects. Over the years, categories such as the ‘Innovation Award’, ‘Young Achiever Award’, and ‘Safety Excellence Award’ have been introduced to provide a broader industry focus. In 2018, the New Zealand Building Industry Awards introduced a ‘Consultant’s Award’ category, and an ‘Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award’ category. The result is that the New Zealand Building Industry Awards now have a category that all high-performing building practitioners can enter.
The New Zealand Building Industry Awards are open to anyone in the building industry, and entries are judged by a panel of senior construction practitioners.
Nominees for a category in the New Zealand Building Industry Awards are likely to be drawn from the following occupations:
- Construction Managers
- Project Managers – contractor and client-side
- Quantity Surveyors
- Suppliers (Innovation and Safety Excellence categories)
- Academics (Innovation category)
- Property Managers (Innovation category).
