Darren is based in our Whangarei office and is a Project Manager for Griffiths & Associates. Darren has worked in the construction industry for 27 years as a carpenter, foreman and for five years as a construction manager. Darren has been a Project Manager for Griffiths since 2009, and resumed after one year out.
He has vast experience and knowledge in all aspects of the building trade – both in commercial and education sector projects. Darren has completed training to an advanced level in 10 Year Property Planning for schools. Darren’s strong communication skills and extensive knowledge of all aspects of the building trade make him a balanced and effective project manager, with a true passion for civil projects that enhance Whangarei city.
When not overseeing projects, Darren enjoys time out fishing, gardening and home renovating; enjoying the lifestyle that Northland offers. Originally from Auckland, Darren has lived up North for over 12 years now, the laid back pace, the beautiful coasts, the family lifestyle and the lack of traffic jams having won him over completely. A Northland Blues supporter through and through, Darren fits in perfectly with the Whangarei sports scene – although the All Blacks are also a big favourite!
The constantly evolving nature of the building and construction industry keeps Darren fully engaged at Griffiths, and this is something he loves. The learning, the challenge, being involved with a project from conception to completion: this is what it’s all about for Darren, and it makes him a highly valued member of the Griffiths team!
